Public invited to Founder’s Day, Gilliam Center dedication at UVa-Wise April 12

The University of Virginia’s College at Wise will dedicate the Gilliam Center for the Arts and celebrate Founder’s Day on Monday, April 12.

The dedication ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Gilliam Center. The facility opened last fall and houses all fine and performing arts programs under one roof for the first time in the College’s history. The center is named in honor of the Gilliam family’s unwavering and generous support of UVa-Wise.

The Founder’s Day celebration begins at 1 p.m. in the Fred B. Greear Gymnasium. University of Virginia President John T. Casteen III and other University and College officials will join in the celebration of University founder Thomas Jefferson’s 267th birthday.
