The University of Virginia’s College at Wise was named one of the nation’s “Great Colleges to Work For” in the July 25 edition of The Chronicle of Higher Education.
UVa-Wise was recognized as one of the top colleges in the category of Facilities, Workspaces & Security, which means facilities meet employee needs, campus appearance is pleasing and steps are taken to provide a secure environment.
Policies that give employees the flexibility to manage their personal lives placed UVa-Wise as one of the top colleges in the Work/Life Balance category.
“Both categories demonstrate the quality of the campus environment and the family atmosphere at UVa-Wise,” said Sim Ewing, vice chancellor for finance and administration. “We care for one another at UVa-Wise.”
Of the 275 colleges that participated in the third annual Chronicle survey, UVa-Wise was one of 97 recognized in the “Great Colleges to Work For” listing.
