UVa-Wise grad tapped Virginia ABC special agent for Southwest Virginia region

Aaron Cathell, a 2006 graduate of UVa-Wise, has been selected as a Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) special agent assigned to the Roanoke regional office, which covers 28 counties and the cities of Bedford, Buena Vista, Covington, Lexington, Martinsville, Roanoke, Salem, Bristol, Galax, Norton and Radford. Cathell will be based in Wise County with a territory that also includes Dickenson County and the City of Norton.

The University of Virginia’s College at Wise will rededicate Smiddy Hall during a June 11 ceremony in honor of Joseph C. “Papa Joe” Smiddy, the College’s first chancellor.

Spring Dean's List at UVa-Wise

 

The University of Virginia’s College at Wise has announced its spring 2013 Dean’s List.

The 394 students named to the Dean’s List earned a grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 scale with no grades below a “C” and were enrolled in at least 12 credit hours.

The normal journey to a college degree takes four years, but a series of events caused Kimberly Denise Marshall Mullins to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences three decades after she graduated high school.
