Virginia “Game Guy” to entertain UVa-Wise fans on Jan. 19

Fans of UVa-Wise basketball will see a little more “game” during halftime of the Jan. 19 matchup between the Cavaliers and St. Catharine as the Virginia Game Guy visits the David J. Prior Convocation Center.

Jason “Game Guy” Kypros has been traveling around the Commonwealth to show that Virginians will make a game out of anything. He recently participated in an Outhouse Race in Independence and a Soapbox Derby race in Culpepper.

The Virginia Lottery sponsors his visits, and he is featured in television commercials for the Virginia Lottery’s new “we’re game” campaign.  The women’s game begins at 2 p.m. The men’s matchup begins at 4 p.m.

Game Guy has visited several Virginia colleges and universities, and he will appear at UVa-Wise for the Jan. 19 men’s and women’s basketball games. Frisbee competitions, Mystery Box Shots and a Human-Sized Hamster Ball Race are among the activities Game Guy will feature while at UVa-Wise.

“We’re excited to have the Game Guy visit UVa-Wise,” said Athletic Director Danny Sterling. “He has a unique way of energizing a crowd, and several lucky fans will leave the basketball games with fun memories and nice prizes.”

Jason is thrilled to visit UVa-Wise. He loves basketball and making games for people to play between breaks in the action. Whether it’s a game of toss the foam noodle, a basketball relay, duct tape bowling or firing his T-shirt cannon, he’s game!
