Volk and Burke featured on ‘With Good Reason’ on July 18
Professor David Volk, an associate professor of music with The University of Virginia’s College at Wise, and Amber Burke, an adjunct instructor at the college, will appear on “With Good Reason,” a radio production of the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, on July 18.
Volk and Burke, along with a talented cast of students from UVa-Wise and local schools, completed the first full-length opera by the Southwest Virginia Summer Opera Company. “The Tender Land,” an American classic by Aaron Copland, was performed in several venues this summer, including the Mountain Arts Center, Paramount Center for the Arts, Breaks Interstate Park, MountainRose Vineyards and Trail of the Lonesome Pine outdoor theater.
"With Good Reason” is aired locally on WVTF at 7:30 p.m. each Wednesday. The episode may be downloaded at the “With Good Reason” web site at www.withgoodreasonradio.org.
