Welch named assistant editor of Journal of Appalachian Studies
Wendy Welch, an adjunct instructor at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise, has been named an assistant editor of the Journal of Appalachian Studies, the official journal of the Appalachian Studies Association.
The Appalachian Studies Association with support from Marshall University publishes the journal twice a year. The ASA is a multi-disciplinary organization for scholars, teachers, activists, and others whose work focuses on the Appalachian region.
Welch’s non-fiction narrative about running a used bookstore in the era of e-books is being published by St. Martin’s Press. She holds a Ph.D. in ethnography and is staff anthropologist for the Graduate Medical Education Consortium.
