Thanks to a generous grant from the Slemp Foundation and partnership with Humanities Tennessee, the Appalachian Writing Project will offer tuition scholarships in the amount of $450 for young writers who demonstrate need and want to attend the 2013 Appalachian Young Writer's Workshop.
Southwest Virginia teens grades 10-12 (and new graduates) may be selected to live and write at a residential camp at Lincoln Memorial University, where they will work with notable Appalachian authors. The deadline for applying is May 17, 2013.
