Nondegree Students
Nondegree students are those who are not seeking admission to
a four-year degree program at UVa-Wise. Nondegree students who
wish to take classes for self-improvement may enroll for a maximum
of seven semester hours per semester. Students who hold a bachelor's
degree and are not working toward a degree at UVa-Wise are not
limited to seven hours.
The following procedure will be followed for students seeking
nondegree status:
• Complete an application for admission, indicating nondegree
status.
• The Director of Enrollment Management will act on the
nondegree application as soon as it is completed.
• A student who has been suspended from UVa-Wise must appeal
to the Academic Appeals Committee for permission to enroll as
a nondegree student.
• A nondegree student is not eligible for financial aid,
cannot reside in campus housing, and is not assigned an academic
advisor.
