Alumni Lecture Series

The University of Virginia’s College at Wise is launching its second Alumni Lecture Series next month to bring distinguished alumni to campus to discuss how their college experience influenced their careers. 

Debbie L. Sydow, Ph.D, a 1985 graduate of then Clinch Valley College, will deliver the second lecture in the series on Monday, April 9 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of All Faiths. The public is invited to the free lecture. 

Alumni lecturers are selected based on their leadership and achievements in their chosen fields. The Alumni Lecture Committee welcomes suggestions on future speakers. Annual Meeting

17th Annual Community Spring Swing Golf Tournament

On April 20, 2012, at the picturesque Lonesome Pine Country Club, we will host the for 17th Annual Community Spring Swing golf tournament. For the past 17 years Norton Community Hospital of Mountain States Health Alliance has proudly served as our  corporate sponsor. Proceeds from this event benefit UVa-Wise through student activities and scholarships. Student - Alumni Picnic

Each spring the UVa-Wise Alumni Board of Directors provides a complimentary lunch to all students, faculty, staff and alumni. The Student-Alumni Picnic will be held on April 25, 2012, in the Gilliam Sculpture Garden.  Members of the Alumni Association and Board of Directors serve as the grill masters for the meal. Over 8oo are served during this annual celebration.

26th Annual Cavalier Alumni $elebration

The 26th Annual Cavalier Alumni $elebration our largest fundraiser, will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at the beautiful Lonesome Pine Country Club. Only 325 tickets are sold at $125.00 each. Grand prize drawing is for $10,000. Alumni Receptions & Awards

On the eve of Commencement, outstanding Seniors and other students are invited to receptions across campus to be honored and to recieve awards in their prospective major. The Alumni Association co-sponsors this activity with the Commencement Committee. Each year the Alumni Association hosts the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science for their awards ceremony at Alumni Hall.
