The University of Virginia's College at Wise students will learn the details of the first moon mission to boost to space from Virginia's Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport on Thursday, Oct. 4 from the mission launch director.
A large crowd joined officials
from the University of Virginia and its College at Wise on Monday, Oct. 8, to
dedicate the science facility in honor of Leonard W. Sandridge, Jr., a longtime
supporter and friend of UVa-Wise.
The SVEA Chapter at the University of Virginia's College at Wise will sponsor the Hallo-Read Carnival for children age 12 and under.
The event will take place in the Fred B. Greer Gymnasium on Thursday Oct. 26, from 6-8 p.m. There will be stories, games, crafts, and snacks for the children. They may come in costume or as they are (please no scary masks or costumes).
The public is cordially
invited to a concert by The Chamber Choir at UVa-Wise on Sunday, October 28 at
3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of All Faiths on the UVa-Wise campus. There is no admission charge.
Many of the best high school bands in Virginia,
Tennessee and Kentucky will compete for the Chancellor’s Cup in the inaugural
CAV-LCADE Tri-State Marching Band Championship at The University of Virginia’s
College at Wise on Saturday, Oct. 27.
OctubaGrass, a concert featuring the UVa-WIse Bluegrass Band and the Wise Guys Low Brass Ensemble, will be held this Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. in the Gilliam Center for the Arts theatre lobby. Refreshments will be available for purchase from members of NAfME, future music educators.
The Fall Fun Festival set for Monday, Oct. 29, has been rescheduled for Nov. 5 at 6 p.m.
The Department of Visual and Performing Arts, Division of Music's annual fall band concert has been rescheduled for Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Gilliam Center for the Arts.
Motivational speaker and former professional basketball player Corie Blount told dozens of Future Business Leaders of America students from Southwest Virginia on Monday, Oct.
