The University of Virginia’s College at Wise Concert Choir will present “A Tapestry of Carols” with Central, Eastside and Union high schools as special guests.

18 as part of the Alfred and Shirley Wampler Caudill Lecture in
UVa-Wise will commemorate the milestone anniversary of the
printing of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” on Nov. 11 with “Austen’s
Powers,” a panel discussion set for 1 p.m. in the Chapel of All Faiths.
The UVa-Wise Student Government Association wants commuters to feel as much a part of campus life as residential students, so the organization has declared November 11 as Commuter Appreciation Week.
Rachel Rose, director of the Center for Student Development at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise, recently presented at the Virginia Counselors Association convention in Hot Springs, Va.
A chamber music concert featuring the UVa-Wise String Ensemble will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel of All Faiths. The event is free and open to the public.
Students from nine regional high schools participated in Avant-Garde Day at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise. Avant-Garde Day is an annual event that promotes the arts and their importance in culture.
The 177 students attending chose from hands-on sessions in art, music and theater.
The UVa-Wise Handbell Choir, Guitar Ensemble, Bluegrass Band, and Percussion Ensemble will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Tue., Nov. 19, in Cantrell Banquet Hall.
The concert is free and open to the public. This is a cultural activity credit event.
