Put the holiday sparkle in a child's eye early this year by attending Charlie Brown's Christmas, Thursday, Nov. 10 at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise.
The celebration, featuring "Charlie Brown's Christmas Play," is for children age 12 and under and offers games, food and lots of activities focused on making reading fun.
Carmen Martinez Novo, director of Latin American Studies at the University of Kentucky, will deliver a lecture entitled “Modernity and Traditions in Native Indigenous Education in Latin America” at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise.
The lecture, which is free and open to the public, begins on Friday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. in the Science Center lecture hall.
Building on the success of the establishment of the Wells Fargo Healthy Appalachia Student Fellows Awards last fall, Wells Fargo has renewed its support for undergraduate research at the institute.
Junior art majors at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise are displaying their work in an exhibit set for Nov. 28 through Dec. 2 in gallery of the Gilliam Center for the Arts.
The public is invited to The University of Virginia’s College at Wise on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. for the Lighting of Crockett Hall.
The UVa-Wise Student Government Association sponsors the holiday event. Those attending will be treated to hot chocolate, cider and cookies, and The Wise Guys will get the crowd in the holiday spirit with plenty of seasonal tunes.
