The Cavs Card is your official UVA-Wise identification card.

The CAVS Card serves a variety of important purposes which include:

• Debit/Vending Card Purchases (for vending, laundry, bookstore, & cafeteria)
• Meal Plan Card
• Library Card
• Athletic Pass (for all regular season home events)

Debit Card System 
Students, faculty and staff may deposit money to the card at the Cashier's Office and use the card around campus to make purchases at the College Dining Hall, Papa Joe's and Campus Bookstore. Meal points are bought for a minimum deposit of $25.00 and do carry over from semester to semester. Meal points are accepted in the College Dining Hall and Papa Joe's. 

Important Notes:
Unused balances are refundable at the end of the academic year with a written request. These funds are protected in case card is lost or stolen. 

 
Vending Card System 
Students, faculty and staff can deposit money on their CAVS Card for vending and laundry machine purchases. The card must be brought to the Cashier's Office at time of deposit to activate CAVS Card for use with these types of transactions. 
Deposit up to $50.00 is available for these transactions and requires the CAVS Card.

Important Notes:
These funds are non-refundable and are not protected in case of a lost or stolen CAVS Card. 

 

UVA-Wise Room & Board Meal Plans  (required for students who live on-campus) 

19 meal plan  $3,798.00/ year ($1,899.00 per semester) 
(McCraray, Martha Randolph, Henson, Culbertson , and Commonwealth Hall)  

Freedom 12 meal plan -$3,415.00/ year ($1,707.50 per semester) 
(Asbury, Thompson, Townhouse, Faculty  Houses, Cav House)   
(Students who live in the residence halls with the 12-meal plan have the option of selecting the 19 meal plan) 

Freedom 15 meal plan - $4,145.00/year ($2.072.50 per semester) Available to all Residence Halls

Faculty, Staff and Student Commuter Meal Plans 
Any 80 meals per semester  $515.00
Any 50 meals per semester  $336.00
Any 25 meals per semester  $173.00
 
IMPORTANT: ALL meal plans are purchased in the Cashier's Office and must be paid for at time of sale.  

 
Other important Facts about the CAVS Card:  

• Cards must not be defaced in any way
• There is a $5 charge for your CAVS Card or a replacement card
• Cards are made on the 3rd floor of the Slemp Student Center
• Cards expire upon Graduation or upon a students withdrawal from the College
