Children invited to celebrate Dr. Seuss' 104th birthday at UVa-Wise
Come in a plane
Or come in a car!
Come in your PJs
Or come as you are!
But come to UVa-Wise
From six until eight
To join in the fun
When we celebrate . . .
Dr. Seuss' 104th birthday!
Children are invited to help celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday along with education students at The University of Virginia's College at Wise on Monday, March 3.
The Student Virginia Education Association (SVEA) at UVa-Wise will host a party for children 12 years old and younger to mark the birthday of beloved children's author Theodore Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss.
The Dr. Seuss Birthday Party will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Fred B. Greear Gymnasium. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
During the evening, children will be able to hear stories based on some of Dr. Seuss’ most popular works like “Horton Hears a Who” and “The Cat in the Hat.” Children can participate in a variety of Dr. Seuss-themed games, crafts and activities. Birthday cake and other fun snacks will be provided and door prizes awarded.
The free event is a community service provided by the UVa-Wise Department of Education and SVEA. The Dr. Seuss Birthday Party is part of the National Education Association’s Read Across America nationwide initiative to promote reading.
