Nominations sought for 2008 Alumni Recognition Program at UVa-Wise

The University of Virginia’s College at Wise Alumni Association is seeking nominations for the 2008 Alumni Recognition Program that recognizes alumni, former faculty and staff members and friends of the College who have made significant contributions to their profession, community, society, the College or the Alumni Association. Recipients will be honored in November.

For selection criteria and to download a nomination form, visit the Alumni Association’s Web site at www.uvawise.edu/alumni. The deadline for nominations is June 1.

The Meritorious Achievement Award recognizes alumni and professors for meritorious service to the College.

The Outstanding Alumni Award recognizes alumni who have achieved substantial professional growth and advancement over an extended period of time and have made significant contributions to society and service to their fellow man, thus reflecting extraordinary credit to the College.

The Outstanding Young Alumni Award recognizes young alumni who have achieved substantial professional growth and advancement over a short period of time and have made significant contributions to the professional world or community, thus reflecting extraordinary credit to the College. Recipients must have graduated within the past ten years prior to the time of the nomination.

The Distinguished Service Award recognizes alumni and former employees who have provided significant service to the College through the Alumni Association, academics, athletics, student services, etc.

Nominations may be submitted to the UVa-Wise Alumni Association, Alumni Hall, One College Avenue, Wise, Virginia 24293, or via e-mail to alumni@uvawise.edu.
