New exchange agreement offers UVa-Wise students international study options in Australia, Asia
The University of Virginia’s College at Wise has signed an agreement with Australearn/Asialearn/Eurolearn, which will give students the opportunity to study abroad in nearly 40 universities.
The new agreement will allow UVa-Wise students to study in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Korea.
“These programs are probably the best and the most experienced study abroad providers in such remote and exciting destinations,” said Witold Wolny, director of the Office of International Programs. “Our affiliation is a gateway for special scholarships for our students wishing to join this program.”
Wolny praised the programs’ customer service, expertise on safety issues and crisis management, as well as their careful selection of partner institutions.
The programs also supply students with extensive country and cultural information, comprehensive pre-departure counseling, “survival” language instruction and an educational, in-country program introduction prior to the start of term. They offer semester, yearlong and summer study abroad programs.
With the signing of this agreement, UVa-Wise now offers more than 180 exchange opportunities for students.
