UVa-Wise selects Jenzabar for new student information system
The University of Virginia’s College at Wise has chosen Jenzabar, Inc., to provide services and software for its new student information system.
Once the system is fully implemented, UVa-Wise students will find a new student information portal with improved online access to financial aid and registration information, plus class schedules, campus announcements, grade reports and degree assessment information.
Overall, the new, more efficient system will allow faculty and staff to minimize time spent on paperwork while maximizing one-on-one time with students.
“This system will bring a whole new level of student information services to campus,” said Keith Fowlkes, vice chancellor for information technology. “UVa-Wise is a growing college and Jenzabar will grow with us to meet future needs.”
Implementation of Jenzabar began in June and will continue through April 2009. Jenzabar, Inc., serves more than 700 higher education institutions worldwide.
The only branch campus of the University of Virginia, UVa-Wise is ranked among the nation’s top 10 public liberal arts colleges by U.S. News and World Report. UVa-Wise offers Virginia’s only undergraduate degree in software engineering, among 28 other degrees and professional programs in the liberal arts tradition of Thomas Jefferson.
