Highland Chorale rehearsals begin Aug. 26 at UVa-Wise
Rehearsals for the Highland Chorale, the campus and community vocal ensemble at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise, will begin Aug. 26.
The Highland Chorale is a combined choir of UVa-Wise students and community members that sings a diverse repertoire of choral music. Recent performances have featured the works of Mozart, John Rutter, Finzi and other noted composers.
The group’s first rehearsal will take place at Music Center II on the UVa-Wise campus. Subsequent rehearsals will be held at the First Baptist Church of Norton.
Under the direction of David Volk, assistant professor of music and coordinator of the Division of Music, the Highland Chorale will present its fall concert at the First Baptist Church of Norton on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 7:30 p.m.
The Highland Chorale will combine with other College performance groups in a joint “Holiday Festival of the Arts” concert to be held at Coeburn Middle School on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 7:30 p.m.
