Vice Chancellor Rusty Necessary kicks off fall Last Lecture Series at UVa-Wise on Sept. 28
Rusty Necessary, vice chancellor for enrollment management, takes the podium to deliver the speech he would give if it were his last when the popular Last Lecture Series begins again at The University of Virginia's College at Wise on Sept. 28.
The series allows faculty, administrators and staff at UVa-Wise to choose a topic and present it as if it were their final lecture. Necessary’s lecture is called “Feeding the Good Wolf.” The event begins at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of All Faiths.
“I believe the Last Lecture Series is an incredibly thought-provoking concept allowing the College community to see those who participate through a different lens and from a fresh perspective,” Necessary said. “I hope that in some small way, my thoughts on choosing how to live one’s life will be meaningful to those who attend.”
The Office of Student Activities sponsors the Last Lecture Series. Organizers revived the series because of the educational and cultural growth it provides students, faculty and staff.
