Children invited to learn and play at UVa-Wise Funtasia Sept. 26
Characters from classic children’s books and popular animated television shows are all part of this year’s Funtasia at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise on Sept. 26.
Funtasia, sponsored by the Student Virginia Education Association and the Student Government Association, begins at noon in the Fred. B Greear Gymnasium and ends at 4 p.m.
Funtasia boosts literacy by encouraging children to read and enjoy a good story. The event features games, activities, food, prizes, inflatables and a silent auction for storybooks. Admission is free, but most games cost 50 cents. An adult must accompany children.
Money raised during Funtasia is used to purchase coats, clothes and toys during the holiday season for children in need.
