Skeen receives first Thomas Walker High School Class of 1950 scholarship

Lee County resident Collin Skeen is the first recipient of the Thomas Walker High School Class of 1950 scholarship at The University of Virginia's College at Wise.

The scholarship, created by the Thomas Walker Class of 1950, is awarded to a qualified graduate of Lee County's smallest high school.

The Class of 1950 has provided financial support to college-bound graduates of their alma mater since 2001. The idea for a scholarship originated at the group’s 50th class reunion when classmates discussed ways to express gratitude to their teachers.
