Chemistry professor Tucker to present ‘Last Lecture’ Nov. 17

Professor of Chemistry Margie Tucker will present the lecture she would give if it were her last as the popular Last Lecture Series continues at The University of Virginia's College at Wise on Nov. 17.

In her lecture, Tucker will discuss her childhood in a military family living in Iraq, Greece and beyond and the effects it had on her sense of home and identity as an American. She believes one’s self-identity is based not only in geography but also upon one’s culture and the passage of time.

The event begins at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of All Faiths.

The Office of Student Activities sponsors the Last Lecture Series. Organizers revived the series because of the educational and cultural growth it provides students, faculty and staff.
