Vertical Hairline

In fall 2004, a vision developed for an extended orientation program for new UVa-Wise students to make their transition into the campus community as seamless as possible. That year, a true "Welcome Week" slate of activities for new and returning students was unveiled.

By fall 2005 that program was expanded and took the name Expedition, named for Mr. Jefferson's vision of exploration of the western U.S. by Lewis and Clark.

The Expedition logo, a directional compass, is symbolic of the different directions, opportunities and challenges that College life brings. UVa-Wise abounds with opportunities for academic exploration and the development of leadership and personal skills.

Expedition serves as an all-encompassing kick-off to your UVa-Wise experience. Fall 2006 is the inaugural year for this comprehensive extended orientation event...enjoy the journey!
