The Fantasticks at UVa-Wise Sept. 6-8

You know the song, now experience The Fantasticks, the beloved musical that spawned the haunting ballad Try to Remember.
The Fantasticks will be staged at The University of Virginia's College at Wise Friday, Sept. 6 through Sunday, Sept. 8. Curtain time is 8 p.m. each evening.
Cast members include: Charly Gilliam as The Mute/The Mime; Michael Abbott as Mortimer; Jon Menick as Henry; Ben Mays as Hucklebee; Keith Snodgrass as Bellomy; Joey Carico as Matt; Breanne Dotson as Luisa; and Toby Cooper as El Gallo. Michael McNulty, assistant professor of theatre at UVa-Wise, directs the production and D. Michael Donathan, professor emeritus of music, is the musical director.
The worldÕs longest-running musical, The Fantasticks ended its 41-year off-Broadway run in January. Since its inception, the musical has been staged in more than 12,000 American venues and 80 foreign countries.
A funny yet touching story of innocence and knowledge, The Fantasticks was adapted from Edmond RostandÕs 1894 play Les Romanesques by then college students Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones. Try to Remember is the production's signature song.
