The C. Bascom Slemp Foundation was named Benefactor of the Year and Beverly and Roger Viers '64 of Wise were named Volunteers of the Year during the College's annual benefactors celebration held in November.

On the left, Roger and Beverly Viers recieved a framed photo of the lake from Chancellor Kaplan. On the right, UVa-Wise Chancellor Steve Kaplan presents C. Bascom Slemp Foundation trustees James Campbell Smith, Nancey Edmonds Smith and Melissa Smith Jensen with a framed print of the College.
