About the Search

In October 2000, Chancellor L. Jay Lemons announced his decision to leave his post at The University of Virginia's College at Wise, a position he has held since 1992. Lemons will become the 14th president of Susquehanna University in January 2001.

A search committee and executive search firm was appointed in November by University of Virginia President John T. Casteen III to begin the process of selecting the sixth chancellor of UVa-Wise.
