UVa-Wise
honored for 50th anniversary activities
The
University of Virginia’s College at Wise has been
honored by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education
(CASE) for its year-long 50th anniversary celebration.
The Award of Excellence was presented to Alumni Director
Valerie Lawson, who coordinated the College’s 50th
anniversary activities, Debra Wharton, director of Special
Events, Jane Meade-Dean, director of College Relations,
and Jim Knight, vice chancellor for Development and College
Relations.
The UVa-Wise entry was selected to receive an Award of Excellence
in the institutional relations category in recognition of
outstanding achievement in concept and execution of programs
for institutional advancement. The College’s winning
entry was displayed during the CASE District III convention
in Atlanta and will be archived at the CASE International
headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education is
the professional organization for advancement professionals
at all levels who work in alumni relations, communications,
and development. UVa-Wise is a member of CASE District III,
which includes colleges and universities from Alabama, Florida,
Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina,
Tennessee, and Virginia.
