Children invited to celebrate Dr. Seuss' 101st Birthday

Children are invited to help celebrate Dr. Seuss' 101st birthday along with education students at The University of Virginia's College at Wise on Wednesday, March 2.

The Student Virginia Education Association at UVa-Wise will host a party for children 12 years old and younger to mark the birthday of beloved children's author Theodore Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss. The Dr. Seuss Birthday Party will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, in Greear Gymnasium. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Education students will stage plays of Seuss works. Children will also enjoy the variety of Dr. Seuss book areas featuring games and activities. Birthday cake and other fun snacks will be provided and door prizes awarded.

The free event is a community service provided by the UVa-Wise Department of Education and the Student Virginia Education Association.
