UVa-Wise
Band, Choir concerts May 5, 7 and 10
Spring at The University of Virginia’s College at
Wise will be filled with the sounds of beautiful music as
both instrumental and choral groups take to the stage. All
performances are free and open to the public.
The Recorder Ensemble, The Wise Guys Tuba Euphonium Ensemble,
and the newly formed UVa-Wise Wind Ensemble will perform
on Wednesday, May 5. The concert begins at 7 p.m. in the
Chapel of All Faiths.
On Friday, May 7, the UVa-Wise Concert Choir, a student
organization, will perform works by Rutter and Handel as
well as selections from Broadway musicals. The concert begins
at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of All Faiths.
The UVa-Wise Band and Jazz Ensemble will present a spring
concert of songs from stage and screen during the evening
of Friday, May 7. Selections from West Side Story, the Wizard
of Oz, The Music Man and several works by Andrew Lloyd Webber
will be performed. The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. in the
UVa-Wise Theatre.
The Concert Choir and Chamber Choir Concert begins at 8
p.m. on Monday, May 10, in the Chapel of All Faiths. A combined
collection of singers from UVa-Wise and the community, the
Chamber Choir will perform works by Schubert and Rutter
plus selections from spirituals.
