Anne
Gilfoil to be featured on With Good Reason
Anne
Gilfoil, associate professor of Spanish, will be featured
on With Good Reason, a statewide radio program, this week.
Gilfoil will be part of a program titled Cleanliness Is
Next to Godliness. In the 1700s, people rarely bathed. During
her research of 19th-century Spanish novels, Gilfoil discovered
that hygiene practices dictated many aspects of people's
lives, from ventilating their homes to frequency of sexual
relations. With Good Reason, produced by the Virginia Foundation
for the Humanities, is broadcast on 10 public radio stations
in Virginia, Tennessee, and Washington, D.C. For complete
listings of shows and times visit the program's website
at www.withgoodreasonradio.org. Listen to With Good Reason
locally on Wednesday night (Oct. 26) at 7:30 on WVTF, 90.5
FM.
