Office of Financial
Aid
Since 1954, UVa-Wise has been dedicated to providing its students
with a quality liberal arts education at an affordable price.
As a state-supported school, the College offers a distinct
educational value in the scenic mountains of Southwest Virginia.
A college education is one of the most important investments
you will ever make. If you are like most students, you may
have some concerns about paying for that education. At UVa-Wise,
we are here to help you make that college education attainable
no matter what your family income happens to be. This section
of our Web site is designed to explain the financial aid opportunities
available to you. There are many sources—federal, state,
institutional, and private—that can supplement the contributions
you can make. Such assistance can help cover your costs for
tuition, room and board, supplies, transportation, and personal
expenses.
More than 70 percent of our students qualify for some form
of financial assistance. Once you have applied for financial
aid, the Office of Financial Aid will be able to begin
helping you find the financial assistance or other payment
options you need to obtain the education you desire.
The process of applying for financial aid can sometimes be
confusing, so you may have questions along the way. If you
do, please contact us so that we may help you with the answers.
If you are on campus, the Office of Financial Aid Services
can be found in Bowers-Sturgill Hall, Room 101.
