The Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) at UVa.-Wise is dedicated to building strong and mutually beneficial partnerships between philanthropic organizations by matching foundation and/or corporate interests and priorities with programs and projects at the College.  Working with administrators, faculty, staff and development officers, our office provides expertise, services and tools to successfully connect UVa.-Wise with philanthropic foundations and corporations.

The Development Office is proud to welcome Sharitt who has assumed the position of Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations.  In this role, Don will leverage the needs of the college with potential foundations and corporations who have a stated interest in supporting higher education.  “I am thrilled to be joining the UVa-Wise community and I look forward to working with the faculty and staff in exploring avenues of new funding sources for the college,” Don said.

Don, a native of Mobile, Alabama and a graduate of Auburn University, has spent over 25 years in the fundraising field with 20 of those years working for the Boy Scouts of America.  He has had responsibility for annual campaigns, endowment programs, special events, grant writing, and capital campaigns.  He has also been the volunteer chair for numerous fundraising campaigns in Columbus, Georgia associated with his children’s school, his church, and the Thunder in the Valley Airshow.

Don is married to Cindy Dickson Sharitt of Kingsport, Tennessee.  Cindy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  Don and Cindy have 3 children.  Carrie Ann and Harrison are attending Columbus State University and Hayden will be a freshman at Central High School.
