| February | Letters and notices sent to School districts, high schools, Drama Teachers and Newspapers seeking nominations for student participants |
| March | High schools and drama teachers coordinate at the district level to nominate students for participation |
| April 1st |
Student Applications and Teacher Evaluations due. |
| Mid April | Invitation letters and response forms sent to student nominees (participants and alternates) |
| Late April | Nominees return response forms to UVa-Wise accepting or declining Governor's School invitations |
| April/May | Governor's school luncheon sponsored by Gifted Consortium for students planning to attend Governor's School |
| May |
Registration Forms sent out to student participants |
| May/June | Alternates who responded to invitation letter are invited to fill spots that might be vacant |
| June | Students participants return registration forms with appropriate parent/guardian signatures |
| June | Student participants are registered for program, course credit, and are assigned a room and roommate |
| June 23 | Parents bring students to UVa-Wise, Check in to the Residence Hall, and attend Orientation with Students |
| June 28 | Students, faculty and staff depart for Staunton, VA to take in Shakespearean theater and architecture. |
| July 11 | 7 PM- Governor's School Student's Final Performance- Open to public |
| July 12 | 3 PM- Governor's School Student's Final Performance- Open to public. 6PM- Strike. 9:30PM- Cast Party |
| July 13 | Parents Move students out of Residence halls and attend final brunch banquet |
| July 14-31 | Parents return/submit Parental Evaluations of Governor's School Program |
