Greek Honor Societies
The Office of Greek Life at The University of Virginia's College at Wise takes pride in the accomplishments of its students both in and outside of the classroom. The Office of Greek Life supports two national honorary societies that honor Greek leaders for their scholastic accomplishments as well as their leadership abilities.
Membership in Gamma Sigma Alpha, the national Greek academic honor society, is open to Greek students who hold junior or senior status and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher at the beginning of their junior year, or to any Greek student who, during their junior or senior year, obtains a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher. Gamma Sigma Alpha promotes scholarship amongst its members and throughout the Greek community. For more information about Gamma Sigma Alpha, or to see a listing of the Society's members, visit here.
Order of Omega, the national Greek leadership honor society, recognizes the top 3% of Greek students. Members must first be nominated for membership in the organization, submit an application and then must be selected by fellow members of Order of Omega. Members must be of junior or senior status and must show significant leadership within the Greek community, both in their respective organizations, as well as through participation in the Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Council, and other student organizations.
