Assistant Professor, Biology
The University of Virginia's College at Wise inivites applications for an Entomologist. This is a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in Biology. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a two-semester sequence of introductory biology lectures and laboratories for majors, advanced courses in zoology, upper level courses in his/her area of expertise, and mentor students in undergraduate research projects. Special consideration will be given to those candidates with an expertise in Appalachian waterways.

Assistant Professor, Spanish
The University of Virginia's College at Wise is seeking applications for two tenure-track positions in Spanish at the assistant professor level. Candidates with training in linguistics and in the methodology of teaching Spanish are preferred for one position, and specialists in Latin American literature are preferred for the other. The College is a public four-year liberal arts institution located in the mountains of southwestern Virginia.
Applicants must hold the Ph.D. in Spanish (or plan to complete the degree no later than August 2013). Candidates should be committed to teaching and promoting a liberal arts education and supportive of the College's international programs.
The teaching load is 4/4 with responsibilities in both beginning and intermediate courses in the languate and upper-level courses in either linguistics or in literature, according to the candidate's field of expertise. Summer teaching and funded research are possibilities.

Instructor in Spanish
The University of Virginia's Collete at Wise is seeking applications for multiple one-year teaching positions at the instructor or visiting assistant professor levels. Candidates with training in the methodology of teaching Spanish are preferred. Applicants must hole an M.A. in Spanish and must have a doctorate in Spanish to be considered for the visiting assistant professor position. The teaching load is 4/4 with responsibilities in both beginning and intermediate courses of the language. Summer teaching is possible. Candidates should be committed to supporting the Spanish section's extracurricular activities, i.e. the Spanish Table, the Spanish honor society, and the film club.
