Housekeeper

At least three months cleaning experience in a professional environment is required, as well as a general knowledge of institutional cleaning methods is required. Additional requirements include knowledge of various cleaning agents and devices and their proper use; and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Landscape Worker

Assistant Sports Information Director

Assistant Coach, Women's Lacrosse

Assistant Athletic Trainer

Community Coordinator

The University of Virginia's College at Wise invites applications for a Community Coordinator. This is a 12-month live-on position geared towards an individual who is energetic, dedicated, progressive, and student-centered. The Community Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Residence Life.

The Community Coordinators assist in providing leadership to one of 3 residential communities on campus. The Community Coordinators will supervise 10-12 Resident Assistants (RA). Responsibilities include assisting with staff recruitment, selection, and training development; assisting RAs with conflict mediation and professional development; assessing RA job performances; coordinating RA programming; assisting with facilities management and monthly fire drills; coordinating monthly health and safety inspections; sharing on-call duty responsibilities; and assisting with summer school and the College's Conferences and Events program. In addition, the Community Coordinators will assist with advising student housing organizations (National Residence Hall Honorary and Residence Hall Association), as assigned, and will assist with other residence life duties as assigned. Community Coordinators are also tasked with creating an atmosphere that promotes student engagement, academic success, respect for diversity, and personal development within their assigned community that reflects the University's mission and department objectives.

A bachelor's degree is required, as well as at least two years work in Housing & Residence Life or a related department at a college or university (undergraduate RA experience is acceptable); on campus living experience; strong organizational and managment skills; excellent communication skills; and the ability to work well with a team, as well as individually, while demonstrating skills in the areas of human relations, crisis intervention, conflict mediation, and innovative planning.

Chief of Public Safety

(Law Enforcement Officer II) 

The University of Virginia's College at Wise invites applications for a Chief of Public Safety. This position will ensure the safety and protection of The University of Virginia's College at Wise campus community and satellite operations by promoting human safety and security of college owned and operated property. Responsibilities include supervising the campus police officers and staff; providing educational, outreach, and crime prevention programs; ensuring that the College operates and reports all federal and state required programs and guidelines; plan and develop policies and procedures to maintain a well-trained, effective police force; maintain comprehensive, campus wide fire and safety programs; coordinate activities with local emergency response personnel on a continual basis; and supervise the development, implementation and enforcement of parking regulations. Additionally, he/she will address all safety issues; develop and implement strong community policing plans; and supervise all investigations and coordinate joint investigations with Virginia State Police and other law enforcement agencies.  
 
Certification as a police officer through the Department of Criminal Justice Services is required, as well as a working knowledge of the Virginia Code and state regulations. The successful candidate must be able to obtain a bond to carry a weapon; knowledgeable of the Federal Cleary Act requirements; and possess excellent communication skills. At least 7 years law enforcement experience is required, with at least 3 of those in a supervisory capacity.
