The University of Virginia's College at Wise is seeking a motivated professional to serve as the College's Coordinator of Career Services. The Coordinator of Career Services is a University managerial and professional staff, full-time twelve month bachelor's level position in the Division of Student Affairs. The Coordinator of Career Services will operate out of the Center for Student Development. The successful candidate will provide assistance to students regarding resume writing, resource information for graduate and professional programs, and will serve as coordinator for the annual career fair. In addition, this individual will serve as a liaison between the College and employers interested in working with UVa-Wise students. The Coordinator for Career Services will also collaborate on programming within the Center for Student Development including Advice and a Slice and health and wellness programming.
Candidates should possess excellent writing and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, proven flexibility and have demonstrated skills in the areas of human relations, communications, diversity, and group dynamics. A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a communications or business-related field. No less than six months experience in event planning, community and/or campus outreach, and networking required.
