Students, if you would like to study abroad while earning college credit, consider the programs offered by Academic Programs International (API) to UVa-Wise students.

Courses for both language and non-language students are taught in the foreign language of the host country and in English (in some locations). Study terms include semester, quarter, summer, year, intensive two-week and month-long programs. Each program includes tuition, housing, medical and life insurance, local social activities, cultural excursions and events, an on-site director, mobile phones (in most locations) and much more. Prices vary from $8,000 to $14,000 (some programs includes meals) per semester.
UVa-Wise traveling with an API program will not pay UVa-Wise tuition or UVa-Wise room and board.
Courses will transfer to UVa-Wise. For that reason, during the application process, the UVa-Wise Office of International Programs will work with students, advisers and corresponding departments to help students choose the appropriate courses abroad.
API offers qualified mentoring before and during the program to help students through their study abroad experience.
