NSNA Mission Statement

The NSNA Mission is to: organize, represent and mentor students preparing for initial licensure as registered nurses, as well as those enrolled in baccalaureate completion programs; convey the standards and ethics of the nursing profession; promote development of the skills that students will need as responsible and accountable members of the nursing profession; advocate for high quality health care; advocate for and contribute to advances in nursing education; and develop nursing students who are prepared to lead the profession in the future.

 Our News:

This past January, several senior nursing students attended the 57th Annual Virginia Nursing Students Association State Convention in Virginia Beach. While there, they attended a mini N-CLEX Review Workshop. The students felt the workshop was beneficial.

End of semester Spring 2009 -  We look forward to a new year of SNA starting in the Fall Semester of 2009. We will have numerous projects, fund raisers and events to sponsor! We look forward to our new nursing students to come and join our Student Nursing Association!

Fund Raising

In April 2009, the students took orders for t-shirts to raise money for their pinning ceremony reception and to give a donation to the Hope House.

Teaching Project

In November 2008, the seniors went to Wise Primary School and taught an assembly of Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First graders about "What is a Nurse". The presentation was great and the kids had fun as well as learning!
