C. Bascom Slemp Student Center Services

The main responsibility of the C. Bascom Slemp Student Center is to provide services to the student body in order for their experience at UVa-Wise to be more memorable and enjoyable. In everything from food to board game checkouts, the C. Bascom Slemp Student Center thrives to provide as many services as possible to students at UVa-Wise.

ATM-An ATM machine is located on the fourth floor of the building located in Papa Joe's.The ATM Machine is maintained by Farmer's and Miner's Bank, located in Wise, VA.

UVa-Wise Bookstore-The UVa-Wise Bookstore is located on the first floor of the Slemp Student Center. Whether you are looking for academic/personal supplies or merchandise bearing the UVa-Wise insignia, the Bookstore can meet your needs. A variety of other services are also available including special occasion campus deliveries, Balfour class rings, and Commencement items. Check Desk- Our equipment loans provide any student wanting to use the game room area the ability to do so. All that is required is a valid UVa-Wise ID Card.

Fitness Center- The fitness center is open to any Student, Faculty or Staff Member and their IMMEDIATE family members, (Mothers, Fathers, Sisters, Brothers, Husbands and Wives), free of charge. All this is required is a valid UVa-Wise ID.

Food and Catering Services- If you are having an event in the C. Bascom Slemp Student Center Chartwell's Dining Service is the catering contact for you. To contact Chartwell's Dining Service please call (276) 328-5514 or check them out online at http://www.uvawise.edu/dining_services/index.html

Papa Joe's Cafe-The Cafe, located on the fourth floor of the Student Center, serves fast food, soups, salads, and subs. Papa Joe's is a great place to come if you have missed the lunch period in the cafeteria.

Mail Services -The UVa-Wise Post Office is located on the fourth floor of the building. The post office offers mail delivery and related services to UVa-Wise and it’s student body in a timely, cost effective, and efficient manner. Campus Mail Services also acts as liaison with the U. S. Postal Service, United Parcel Service, Federal Express, Airborne, and other private carriers of correspondence, both domestic and international.
