Student Development Advisory Board

The Student Development Advisory Board (SDAB) is a group of students who provide input for the scheduling of events, programs and activities for UVa-Wise students through the Center for Student Development that pertain to the overall health, development and future of the UVa-Wise community.

 

SDAB has been recognized at the annual Student Leadership Awards Banquet will several awards, including:

  • 2012-2013 Organization of the Year
  • 2012-2013 Educational Program of the Year (Living Proof with Sarah Panzau)
  • 2012-2013 Service Program of the Year (Rock the Vote and Debate)
  • 2011-2012 Most Improved Organization
  • 2011-2012 Educational Program of the Year (Sexual Responsibility Day) 

EVENTS & PROGRAMS 
A variety of events and programs are coordinated and/or co-sponsored by SDAB with the Center for Student Development each semester.  Here is the fall 2013 schedule of events -- join us for:

  • Sept. 16 - Time Management Workshop, 1 pm, SSC Rhododendron Room
  • Sept. 18 - National Gordie Day (Hazing), 1 pm, Cantrell Hall
  • Sept. 23-24 - National Guard  Alcohol Awareness Pedal Carts, 11 am-2 pm, Lawn by the Lake
  • Sept. 27 - Driving and Drinking Awareness, 11 am-1 pm, SSC Atrium
  • Oct. 2 - Mini Stress Busters - 10 am-3 pm, SSC Atrium
  • Oct. 16 - Depression Screening Day, 10 am-2 pm, SSC Atrium
  • Oct. 19 - Survive at Wise 5K - details TBA
  • Oct. 23 - Cover Your Cough, 10 am-2 pm, SSC Atrium
  • Nov. 13 - World Kindness Day, 11 am-2 pm, SSC Jefferson Lounge

MEMBERSHIP
